Our Mission

Highland Baptist Church exists to lead people to connect with Jesus and with others,

grow in Jesus, and live out our faith in Jesus.

Matthew 28:19

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit…”

At hbc we:

Connect with Jesus through worship. Corporate worship every weekend, personal worship through Life Groups and prayer and lifestyle worship. We also connect with each other through fellowship.

Grow in Jesus through Life Groups. This is the primary way we make disciples through teaching, praying, and caring for each other in the group.

Live out our faith. By sharing our faith with our community, showing our faith through acts of caring, giving to support the mission of hbc, and participate in missions through praying, giving, and going. We also live out our faith by serving the church body in the way we’re each uniquely designed to do since everyone has gifts and talents specific to them for the service of The Church.

“He answered, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind;’ and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”

Luke 10:27

Our Vision

We will be a church body of 1,000 people in average worship attendance and 1,000 people in average Life Group attendance by the year 2020.

We see God taking us to this place in many ways. We ask our attenders to pray daily for hbc as a church, for our place in the community, and for our leadership. We strive to share Christ through local outreach and to regularly baptize new believers. We want discipleship to follow every baptism and every believer to be in a discipleship relationship with other believers. We want to stay a connected church family through unity and oneness that includes fellowship as a regular part of church life.

To achieve this vision, we are working toward being a multi generation, multi campus, and multi-language church body. We see hbc opening campus facilities to continue reaching the lost for Christ in Crooked River Ranch and in Bend and we are open to the Lord moving us to other communities of Central Oregon. We have partnered with the Northwest Baptist Convention to begin a completely Spanish speaking church within the walls of hbc.

We will continue to be a church on mission for Christ locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. We will do this every year through making disciples here at hbc, planting new churches or campuses to reach the lost in our greater area, support our partnering organizations and sending teams out on short term trips to work with full time missionaries around the country and the world.

Our Affiliations

We partner with three organizations so that we can work toward this vision with the support of the greater Christian family. These organizations are the High Desert Baptist Association, the Northwest Baptist Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention. In this partnership we also help other churches affiliated with these organizations when we have resources or personnel that can assist in their mission and vision. These groups exist because together we can achieve things that might be too large for any one church to do alone.
